Meet the Founder

OVUM is a dedication to my daughter, Siya Lucia — the one, precious little egg (the OVUM) that chose me, and made motherhood possible.

Hi! I'm Dhesha, mother and founder of OVUM Maternity Lingerie - born from my own journey into motherhood.

After years of living with endometriosis, multiple surgeries, and IVF treatment, I was told that becoming a mother was unlikely for me.

Then, on 8 April 2022, Siya entered this world and against all expectations, my life changed.

More than just lingerie, OVUM is designed to honour the Woman who is experiencing motherhood.

When I became a mother, I wasn’t prepared for how quietly I would begin to lose parts of myself along the way.

I tried so hard to become the best mother I could be, but somewhere in that process, I became disconnected from the woman I once was — and I missed her. My body felt unfamiliar, and my confidence shifted in ways I didn't expect.

During my breastfeeding journey, I realised how deeply I wanted to feel feminine again — not matronly.
One of the most inherently feminine things we can do as women is grow, birth, and nourish our babies, and yet I didn't feel feminine at all…

Something as simple as lingerie, which is meant to be soft, beautiful, and supportive, no longer felt like it was made for me.

Everything available was overly practical or clinical and beige! Functional, yes - but not beautiful.

I started to feel frumpy; my posture was different and that knocked my confidence.

There was nothing that honoured me as a Woman while supporting the mother I was becoming.

So I created what I couldn’t find.

Founded in 2022, OVUM is my way of holding space for the woman within — so that becoming a mother can enrich you but never erase you.
